Letter to Community

Good afternoon,

As most of you probably know by now, Governor Abbott has announced that schools will not physically open until April 3rd.  We are continuously monitoring all sources of information from the state, local health department and the Texas Education Agency; however please know this is a very fluid situation.  Things are changing at a very rapid pace and we must adapt to what comes our way.  We will stay with our original plan of preparing next week with teachers and beginning instruction the following week.  We will practice recommendations by the health experts while preparing our teachers for online instruction.

Bushland ISD will be serving breakfast and lunch simultaneously at two separate locations for the duration of the closing.  Meals will be grab and go such as burgers and sandwiches.  Pick up locations will be at the high school and elementary between the hours of 9:00 and 11:00 a.m.  Pick up at the high school will be between the Ag shop and the back of the school.  Please follow the signs that are posted.  Elementary pickup will be between the elementary and middle school in the bus lane.  Please enter on the south end of the middle school, drive around behind the middle school and follow the signs for pickup.

We will get information to you as quickly as possible through call-outs, emails, our website and social media.

These are very trying and stressful times for everyone. I know this is not an ideal situation but we will get through this together.

Once again, I ask for your trust, support and prayers.

Chris Wigington, Superintendent

Bushland Independent School District
